Mission and Purpose

To be an organic church planting partnership that serves, equips, coaches, empowers and sends future missional leaders into the 21st century.

Organic

Our desire is to allow the Spirit of the living God to lead and shape each individual community of faith/church plant. We don't desire to see a "model" emerge but rather men who will lead by the Scriptures and the Spirit.

Church

We believe that the Church (followers of Christ) is God's greatest plan in sharing faith, love and hope with our world. We value the local church and will do whatever possible to ensure she has a relevant voice in the culture.

Planting

We believe that new, indigenous church starts are the greatest ways to expose people to the Gospel as well as help believers find their place of service in the Kingdom. As a farmer plants seeds to harvest crops at a later time, we will look to diligently plant new communities of faith/churches so ensure a harvest to come for many decades to come.

Partnership

We can't change the world alone. We don't claim to know everything there is to know about church planting. We will work together with other leaders in the Kingdom (church planters, teachers, business leaders, etc...) to help the Church regain her relevant voice in culture. We are better together.

Serves

Our desire is to bend our knees to wash the feet of others who desire to change the world through church planting. This isn't about Square One becoming famous. This is about helping others, considering others better than ourselves and changing the way spiritual leadership is viewed in our culture.

Equips

We desire to help train new church planters through the reading of appropriate books, attending "leadership advances", utilizing the website for information transformation and helping our planters access experiences (conferences, retreats, etc...) that will undoubtedly help them grow spiritually, mentally, physically, socially and financially.

Coaches

Our hope is to have other young leaders see Square One as some of their biggest "fans" in church planting. Just as important we want to help lead these young leaders in how to plant the most effective missional church possible. We hope to be seen as a members of the same team (not in competition) but just having different roles. As leaders who have helped dream, organize and start other church plants we want to now give encouragement to a new generation of church planters.

Empowers

We want our church planters to sense that there is a competent community of other leaders who really believe in them. Through verbal encouragement and practical resources (finances, conferences, assessments, etc...) we hope to be the voice of hope to these young leaders who will no doubt need the encouragement to become the leaders God is calling them to become.

Sends

It is our desire to see church plants who are sent around our city, state, nation and world. We desire our new church plants to also have the attitude that church planting is essential to keep the Kingdom moving forward and growing. Square One will be a sending agency in every sense of word.

Missional

We will be intentional about incarnating ourselves in the culture that we are placed in (where we live, work and play). We refuse to separate the sacred from the secular. We will not be limited by the institution that has become known as "American Christianity." We are not fighting others (but spiritual powers) therefore we don't have an "us vs. them" mentality. We desire to be leaders, who like Christ, aren't afraid of meeting, embracing and transforming culture with faith, love and hope.

Leaders

We want to find the best of the best leaders in our sphere of influence. We desire to invest in those men who will in turn invest in hundreds of others (through building relevant communities of faith/churches and through planting other missional churches). We will be intentional about taking these leaders and helping them transform into better servant leaders.

21st Century

We live in a pivotal time. Christianity as we know has lost it's power and influence in the west. However God has promised that we can create the future He desires through His Spirit. Square One will embrace the times we live in and look forward with anticipation what God might do through us to help create the earth that He desires.
